SEMP-Traineeships

Within the framework of the Swiss-European Mobility Programme, UZH students who undertake a traineeship in another country can apply for funding.

Finances for SEMP-Traineeships

Applications for funding from the Swiss-European Mobility Programme (SEMP) can be handed in for all traineeships with no or very low compensation. Applications are possible for all traineeships within Europe. Recently, limited funding for internships outside of Europe has also become available.

Stipends for traineeships in Europe amount to 440 CHF per month (calculated on a per diem basis) and 500 CHF per month (calculated on a per diem basis) for traineeships outside of Europe.

In order to be able to apply for financial support for a traineeship, the following criteria apply:

  • You have found a traineeship position and a supervisor at a university or a company;
  • The traineeship lasts between a minimum of two and a maximum of 12 months;
  • At the time of your application, you must be matriculated at UZH (BA, MA or PhD) and, at the end of your traineeship, your degree (BA or MA) must not be older than 12 months;
  • If you have not yet completed your studies, the traineeship will count towards your degree (e.g. in the form of ECTS points, an entry in your transcript of records or diploma supplement, or a term paper).

Application

The application must be handed in through our application portal Mobility Online: Registration Mobility Online

First you have to fill in an application form and register on Mobility Online. In a second step you can upload the necessary application documents. You will receive more information regarding this after registering.

The application on Mobility Online must completed at least 60 days before the start of your traineeship.

If you have already registered on Mobility Online, you can use the following link to complete, check or upload required documents during your traineeship: Mobility Online
